Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

The short version: We collect only what we need to run our products. Your spreadsheet data stays in your Google account. We never use your data to train AI or machine learning models. We never sell your information to anyone.

We built Gridite to be useful without being intrusive. This policy explains what information we collect across all Gridite products, how we handle it, and what rights you have. It covers two products: Gridite Scraper and Gridite Alerts, our Google Sheets add-on.

Google Workspace data and AI training

We do not use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train any AI or machine learning model. This applies to everything Gridite Alerts accesses: your spreadsheet structure, cell values, and account identity. None of it is fed into any AI system, by us or on our behalf.

The data Gridite Alerts reads from your spreadsheet is used for one purpose only: checking whether a cell change matches a condition you set up. That is the entirety of what we do with it.

No AI training, ever. Gridite's use of Google Workspace APIs is strictly limited to operating the alert features you configure. We do not retain, analyze, or share Google Workspace data for any purpose beyond delivering your notifications.

What we collect and why

Gridite Alerts

Gridite Alerts is a Google Sheets add-on. When you install it, Google asks you to grant several permissions. We need spreadsheet access to create and maintain a hidden configuration sheet inside your own spreadsheet. That sheet stores your alert settings. We also read cells when an edit trigger fires, but only to check whether the edited cell matches one of your alert conditions. Your spreadsheet data does not leave your Google account.

We use the mail permission solely to send email notifications when an alert fires and you have configured an email destination. The script trigger permission lets the add-on detect edits in the background. The external request permission lets the add-on communicate with our backend to store your notification destinations and alert logs. The identity token lets us verify who you are on each request without passwords.

On our servers, we store two things. First, the notification destinations you configure: webhook URLs, email addresses, or channel identifiers, linked to your Google account ID. These are kept until you remove them or uninstall the add-on. Second, a minimal log of each notification sent: the timestamp, which alert fired, and whether delivery succeeded. Logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted.

Important: We never read or store the general content of your spreadsheets. The only cell values we ever see are the old and new values of the specific cell that triggered an alert you set up.

Usage analytics

We collect aggregated, anonymous usage data across both products. Things like which features are used most often and where errors happen. None of this data is tied to you personally.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to do three things. First, to make the product work: routing your requests, authenticating you, firing notifications, and returning extracted data. Second, to make it better: analyzing error patterns and usage to find bugs and improvements. Third, to keep you informed when something important changes about the service. We will not send you marketing messages without your consent.

How we protect your data

All communication between you, our products, and our API uses HTTPS. We store only what we need and delete it on a schedule. For Gridite Alerts, authentication is handled through Google's identity system so we never see or store your Google password. Your spreadsheet data never touches our servers except for the old and new values of a cell at the moment an alert fires.

Third-party services

The Gridite Scraper uses an AI provider to process page content. That provider receives the content of the URL you submit and your extraction description. For Gridite Alerts, notifications are delivered through the platforms you configure, such as Slack or Discord. Those platforms receive the notification payload we send them. Each has its own privacy policy and we encourage you to read them.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we have on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you use Gridite Alerts, you can revoke the add-on's access to your Google account at any time through your Google account settings, which immediately ends our ability to read anything in your spreadsheet. To request access, correction, or deletion, contact us at the address below.

How long we keep data

Notification destinations are kept until you remove from Gridite Alerts. Notification logs (timestamp and delivery status) are kept until the user deletes them from ui.

When we might share information

We might share data in three situations: if a court order or legal authority requires it, if we need to investigate or stop fraud or abuse, or if Gridite is ever acquired or merged with another company. In that last case, users would be notified before any data transfer happens. We will never sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. For changes that meaningfully affect how we handle your data, we will try to notify you directly through the product or by email.

You can remove Gridite Alerts from your Google account at any time through Google Workspace add-on settings. Doing so immediately revokes all access and removes any background triggers we installed.
